Satay Man with Stall (Figurine SH005)
SGD$64.00
Satay Men were roving street hawkers in early Singapore who prepared this delicacy over a portable charcoal grill. As the country developed, street hawkers eventually vanished and were replaced by more sanitary eating establishments.
This Miniature Stories collectible figurine depicts a Malay Satay Seller with his mobile stall, fanning and barbecuing some sticks of satay over a grill. He is wearing a blue checkered sarong and white “songkok,” which is a type of cap commonly worn by Muslim men.
He is best displayed with the Satay Customer (SH006) seated on a low stool and eating at a table (sold separately).
