About the Hunter AFV
The Hunter AFV (Armored Fighting Vehicle) is a cutting-edge, versatile military asset designed and manufactured by ST Engineering. It is the Singapore Army’s latest armoured fighting vehicle that was newly commissioned in 2019.
This formidable 4×4 wheeled armoured vehicle combines mobility, protection, and firepower to excel in a variety of missions. Moreover, the Hunter AFV has advanced composite armour so that it ensures the safety of its occupants by providing protection against small arms fire, artillery shrapnel, and CBRN threats.
The crew, too, benefits from state-of-the-art communication systems and ergonomic seating for enhanced comfort and safety during operations.
One of the standout features of the Hunter is its modularity. This allows for rapid reconfiguration, making it suitable for various mission profiles. For example, it is used for troop transport, reconnaissance, command and control, and even combat support. The vehicle is armed with a remotely-operated weapon station, capable of mounting different weapon systems, such as machine guns or anti-tank missiles, based on mission requirements.
